BIRDS OF PREY PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography mornings are normally held once every month from March – October with specific details published on our Facebook and Twitter pages. These dedicated mornings are located offsite, away from the general public and are held in a more natural setting than the World of Wings centre.  An hour is spent shooting static birds close (usually four or five species) with natural backgrounds, all of which have been positioned to optimise available light and clean backgrounds. There is also a chance to photograph a raptor feeding on natural prey. The second hour is about shooting the birds in flight, usually three or four birds depending on the wind and the weather. After, photographers can return to the centre where they can watch the flying display at 12pm. If photographers still have any space left on their memory cards, they can stay for the 3pm show too.
All photography experience levels are welcome, these mornings are a great opportunity to learn and exchange ideas with fellow photographers. World of Wings official photographer Fiona Brims will be there to provide tips on securing the best shots. The terrain can be rough, so boots or wellies are essential. A maximum of 14 spaces is available on each morning. Contact us on 01236 722999 (and please leave your name and number if we can’t pick up) or email at info@worldofwings.co.uk to book your slot. The cost is £60 per photographer.

Our first date of 2024 will also see it taking place at the new on-site studio, the Creative Hub Scotland. The studio offers a variety of lights, backgrounds and props, all of which are included and part of the price. The first date for your diary? Sunday 18 February 2024.

Phone or email us to book a slot or get more information.
