Flying displays

Nothing beats the feeling of an owl hovering low over your head, watching a falcon stoop to the lure or seeing a vulture gracefully soar above your head. Here at World of Wings we offer the perfect opportunity to get up close with our birds. Come and see our fantastic team of birds show you their flying skills, all accompanied by insightful commentary from our falconers.

Flying display times are 11pm, 1pm and 3pm and each display runs for between 45 minutes and one hour. The timings are approximate because our birds aren’t domesticated or ‘tame’ and still have minds of their own! We have three to four birds flying in each display and different species fly in each display, so every flying demonstration is different.

Please note – our flying displays are held outside in our seated flying field, so please dress appropriately for the Scottish weather!

Personal flying and handling experiences

If you want to actually get really close and actually fly some of our birds, you can do just that! We offer a range of different handling and flying experiences at the centre. Supervised by our expert staff, you could walk with a hawk or take an owl into the woods. Experiences range from shorter ‘taster’ experiences to more extensive handling and flying sessions, flying one of our Harris hawks or owls in our local woodland! These unforgettable days out make a fantastic present for the bird lover in the family or a special treat for yourself.
